When a futurist and true NFT enthusiast like Noah Davis oversees one of the industry’s pioneers, it’s a massive step. Davis, known as “the NFT Guy” at Christie’s, will join Yuga Labs as the CryptoPunks brand lead in July.
Noah Davis, Christie’s AVP Specialist, Head of Digital Sales, Contemporary Art, has overseen some of the auction house’s most famous NFT sales, including Beeple’s historic $69 million sale, Fewocious, CryptoPunks, Trespassing, and others.
Davis announced the move in a Twitter thread, putting to rest any fears that the Punks’ future would be like that of the Bored Ape Yacht Club. As a reminder, Yuga Labs of BAYC acquired intellectual property rights of CryptoPunks earlier this year.
“I will not fuck with the Punks,” he wrote. “It means no Punks on lunchboxes or cringe TV shows/shitty movies. It means no arbitrary rushed utility or thoughtless airdrops.”

Davis stated that he will be present at the CryptoPunks brunch during the NFT.NYC event and will speak with any holder. Davis tweeted, “Wherever Punks go, the community will help guide us.”
He mentioned his other work obligations, such as leading the “Howlerz” NFT project, which he will continue to lead while at Yuga Labs.
BAYC co-founder Garga wrote about the new hire at Yuga Labs, as well as what the team has been up to. And so, they will introduce new terms for Punks in the coming weeks.
“When we acquired Punks from Larva Labs, there were only two things we knew we wanted to do – the first was to turn over commercial rights to NFT holders similar to how we did for BAYC. The second thing was to do nothing for a while, except listen. We’ve been doing that.”
