The Twitter account of Duppies NFT got hacked and hackers drained out wallets by tricking users with a hyperlink.
The Duppies NFT Twitter account made a tweet saying that there was a stealth mint occurring. By clicking the hyperlink, customers were tricked into giving up the control of their NFT wallets to the hackers.
A Twitter user @Helloimmorgan, claimed that a number of wallets have already been drained from this hack.
Since then, the staff of Duppies has contacted Twitter Assist, seeking help from them to close down the web page. This will stop any more community users from falling for the trick. They’re even providing free $DUST to accounts randomly that help them to report the hack.
After the incident, communities such as Solana, DeGods NFT, as well as the Duppies NFT have been actively tweeting to warn more users to not click on any hyperlinks which come from that Twitter account.
Hackers have managed to hack many big names in the NFT industry. Hacking is becoming a big issue for users as well as companies. Recently the NFT giant BAYC’s Instagram got hacked and 91 NFTs were stolen.
