Guitar mammoth Fender is having a gig into the music metaverse, with the launch of ‘Stratoverse’ in partnership with Meta.
Stratoverse is among one of the two new virtual worlds launched by Meta at the Cannes Lions 2022. The other virtual world, ‘MINIverse’ metaverse, was launched along with its other partnership with BMW Group.
The Stratosphere is depicted as a Stratocaster guitar-shaped island. The island is surrounded by other floating islands, giant Fender guitar amplifiers and planets afloat in the stratosphere.
It is a collaborative project between R/GA, Creative Shop and Meta Horizon World’s creators Ashley Briley, Matt Torres and Sammy Nu of VRinReview.
Evan Jones, CMO at Fender, said, “We could not be more pleased to have been invited by Meta to bring Fender into the metaverse for the first time.”
Evan further said that the firm is thrilled by the capability of this tech that allows Fender fans and creators to come together, play, and create beyond borders, cultures, and from any distance.
The Music Metaverse will open a lot of melodious experiences for its users! Fans can search for guitar chords symbolised by sparkling coloured ‘guitar picks’ and keep them at Riff Maker to generate music.

Users can start their search from the headstock of the Stratocaster guitar-shaped island to the Riff Maker.
Additionally, users can keep guitar picks in any one of the 18 spots in the Riff Maker. Moreover, users can move the pick around and change it from a major to a minor chord. The Stratoverse also has easter eggs for fans including air guitar zones and four special golden picks.
Note that Stratosphere is accessible to users from the US, Canada and UK who have Meta Quest 2 headsets.
Fender had first forayed into the Web3 space with its five metaverse-related and NFT related trademarks in May.
