The ultra-high-end British carmaker, Bentley, is shifting gears into the Web3 space. The Bentley NFT collection is the automaker’s Genesis collection, with only 208 NFTs available on Polygon.
Bentley is known for celebrating speed and style, and the NFT collection is inspired by this philosophy as well.
Bentley is particularly interested in the 208 NFTs. The number 208 refers to both the top speed of Bentley’s fastest Grand Tourer (the Continental GT Speed) and the total production run of the iconic R-Type Continental from 1952, which inspired modern Bentley design DNA.
Polygon recently achieved carbon-neutral status, prompting the announcement. And so, all Bentley NFTs will be carbon-neutral.
Bentley’s Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing, Alain Favey, says, “Bentley customers are living their lives online, purchasing luxury goods with digital currency, and establishing businesses in the Metaverse.
“We’ve always engaged our customers where they explore their passions, and today that means being present in digital marketplaces and offering NFT assets.”
Bentley Motors will also explore other digital platforms such as NFCs (non-fungible chips), online gaming, Metaverse applications, and the use of blockchain technology throughout the company.

With this drop, Bentley hopes to make its first foray into Web3 in a sustainable manner using Polygon blockchain, as well as other philanthropic goals.
Ryan Wyatt, CEO at Polygon, said, “By embracing this novel tech, Bentley secures its position in the next iteration of the internet, and doing so via Polygon’s carbon-neutral network will assist the automaker on its journey toward attaining carbon-neutrality by 2030.”
Proceeds from this and future NFT collections will be used to support engineering, design, and manufacturing students, as well as organizations working to increase sustainability efforts in the transportation sector.
