In order to raise exposure for Web3, the cryptocurrency exchange platform Binance has teamed up with Khaby Lame, the most popular TikToker. The influencer would represent the exchange as a global brand ambassador while dispelling myths about the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries.
With his videos criticising DIY content providers who overcomplicate things, Lame gained 142 million followers on the social media platform TikTok and quickly came to popularity. He performs his signature ‘Khaby move’ of raising both of his palms as he offers humorous life tips that make things more simpler.
Lame will be producing content that dispels myths about Web3 using his recognisable content style, according to Binance. An executive at Binance named James Rothwell claims that Lame will add relevance & relatability as Web3 adoption grows.
Rothwell explained that “With so much nuance around Web3 and misinformation in the world, it was a perfect match to have Khaby on board to help debunk some of the myths around this space.”
The Tiktoker claimed “I’ve been curious about Web3 for some time, and jumped at the chance to partner with a leader like Binance because it aligns perfectly with what I usually do: make complex stuff easy and fun for everyone!”
“I consider my followers as my family, and I am always looking for new challenges and interesting content to share with them,” Khaby Lame stated.
The TikTok celebrity will be working with Binance to create nonfungible token (NFT) collections with the aim of boosting engagement with his fans, in addition to producing information about Web3 and dispelling falsehoods.
The TikTok star’s onboarding into Binance continues the company’s efforts to collaborate with well-known celebrities. Recently, Binance partnered with Ronaldo to engage with sports fanatics as well.
