Portugal’s 2022 Primeira Liga Champions, FC Porto, today announced an Upland agreement to launch European football in Upland Metaverse. Upland is a platform for the metaverse mapped to the real world.
FC Porto, the first European Football Club to foray into Metaverse is bringing a new twist to fandom and empowering the members of FC Porto and Upland. Thus, opening doors to new experiences!!
With the Upland agreement, FC Porto will include launching the Porto city with NFT properties that will be mapped to their real world addresses that fans can buy.
The agreement also includes construction of FC Porto’s Estádio do Dragão (Dragon Stadium). Moreover, the first range of NFTs of a European football club will also be launched.
Thanks to Upland, fans can hold common and rare NFTs through fun and engaging game mechanics. Fans can also offer their NFTs in player-owned and operated shops mapped on their virtual properties throughout the space of metaverse.
The first phase of the FC Porto rollout in Upland will be conducted during the 2022/23 season.
