The last 24 hours have been busy for the NFT platform OpenSea. The platform delisted pop culture’s favourite child, Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs whilst also dealing with an email data breach.
The delisting was pointed out by a BAYC collector on Twitter. The collector displayed a strange message for one of his Apes, when he was checking his collection.
The message stated that the item he is trying to view has been delisted because it goes against the platform’s Terms of Service. The user could however still access the NFT from their wallet.
However, the issue was resolved within a few hours with both BAYC and OpenSea tweeting about it.
OpenSea’s tweet read, “Due to a technical error, a number of @boredapeyc NFTs were briefly delisted. We quickly resolved this issue within minutes, and all impacted items have been relisted. We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused.”
While some users feel it was a genuine technical error, there are others who believe the incident is because of the project’s court case against Ryder Ripps.
Ryder Ripps is charged by Yuga Labs for “seeking to devalue” authentic BAYC NFTs with a counterfeit collection dubbed RR/BAYC NFTs.
