Canadian-based crypto trading platform, Coinberry revealed its official acquisition by leading crypto marketplace WonderFi in the settlement of a $30 million deal. In its official blog post, Coinberry announced the closing of the deal.
The deal received a green signal from Competition Bureau Canada, Ontario Securities Commission, and other provincial regulatory boards.
In April, DeFi platform WonderFi CEO Ben Samaroo indicated the possible acquisition of Coinberry along with Bitbuy to establish itself as a leader amongst crypto companies in Canada. Bitbuy is another crypto trading platform acquired by WonderFi.
Following the deal’s completion, WonderFi anticipates laying off 20% of the staff from the two acquired platforms.
