Popular Hollywood actor Johnny Depp who recently won a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard ultimately donates $800,000 in total from the proceeds of his NFT collection “Never Fear Truth.”
The sale proceeds were split between four organizations: “Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation (via CAF America), Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (via CAF America), The Footprint Coalition, and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA).
Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles is connected to Depp’s ex-wife Heard. Perhaps Depp’s payment could be also perceived as a subtle jab at ex-wife Amber Heard, who was expected to give her divorce settlement of $7M (£5.8M) to the Children’s Hospital but didn’t.
Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles is one of two charities Heard mentioned where she would donate the alimony, the other one being The American Civil Liberties Union.
Heard was cross-examined by Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez during the hearing and was busted for not donating the amount as the counter-party resented the evidence.
Johnny Depp donating the NFT sale profits was well received by the NFT community and muggles, with them appreciating Depp for doing so. Actually, Johnny Depp’s NFT sales soared high when he won the defamation case against Amber Heard.
