Tech giant Meta is upgrading its recently launched avatar store to offer new fashion looks by collaborating with digital fashion provider DressX.
The complete looks for the avatars range in price from $2.99 to $8.99. The first DressX x Meta collection was available on July 19 at 10 a.m. PT.
Meta will also continue to offer free outfit options to marketplace customers. Users can use their DressX costumes on all platforms owned by Meta, including VR headset Quest, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, etc.
DressX will receive a portion of revenue from this partnership, and new DressX collections will be released monthly.
Meta has indicated that it intends to eventually allow independent creators to monetize their designs.
With this collaboration, DressX joins Prada, Balenciaga & Thom Browne to launch the collection in Meta’s avatar store.
The Meta avatar store was initially launched in the United States, Canada, Thailand, and Mexico, and it will be expanded to other countries in the future.
