Custom service of Finland, Finnish Customs has sold out legally forfeited 1889.1 bitcoins in summer, which were seized in the investigation of illicit activity regarding narcotics and doping substances.
According to the official document, the Finland government generated proceeds of around 46.5 million euros from its sale.
Finnish Customs is steered under the Finance Ministry of Finland. Bitcoins were sold by two unnamed crypto brokers, which the customs agency chose after a round of negotiation in late spring.
Also, Customs stated that they have not acknowledged currencies associated with the sold bitcoins. Although, it says that the value of these unrecognized currencies is some “hundreds of thousands of euros”.
After this sale of bitcoins, Finnish Customs is now holding up 90 bitcoins, whose judgment is still awaited. The agency has also freezed other cryptocurrencies. But it has denied revealing details and the amount of it as its investigation is in the primary stage.
