Turkey’s Minister of Finance and Treasury, Dr. Nureddin Nebati met with Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) virtually to discuss cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology as the country prepares its crypto regulatory policies to drive innovation within its jurisdiction.
The Finance Minister said on Twitter that the two talked about “blockchain ecosystems” and “crypto assets,” but he didn’t elaborate.
In response to Turkey’s Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) imposing an 8 million lira (approx $751,314) fine on Binance’s Turkish subsidiary, BN Teknologi, in December, CZ commented, “We solve issues.”
