In an attempt to increase their reach, Solana has opened up a physical store called the ‘Solana Spaces’ in New York City. The store is located in Hudson Yards and is being launched in collaboration with the Solana Foundation and will be open to the public from Thursday .
The store features an NFT gallery displaying the Degenerate Ape Academy collection.
An interactive installation visualizing what’s happening on the Solana blockchain in real time, including transactions done and NFTs minted, is also installed in the store.
The store’s main aim is to onboard onlookers and educate anyone new to the crypto space, said Vibhu Norby, the CEO of Solana Spaces.
The store has several stations to educate people and a private booth to help people set up a Phantom wallet. Other stations gave tutorials on platforms like STEPN, a play-to-earn app, and Magic Eden, an NFT marketplace.
People could also demo Solana’s Web3 mobile phone, Solana Saga.
Moreover, the store was filled with branded merch including shirts, sweats and hats galore, labeled with phrases commonly used in the crypto community like the rallying cry “WAGMI”, as well as “degen”, “not financial advice”, and “probably nothing”
