The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, launches NFT ticketing for the matches of Italian soccer club S.S. Lazio in the 2022–2023 Italian Serie A championship.
The Lazio fan token partnership was established in October 2021 with Binance becoming the primary T-shirt sponsor of Lazio. The sponsorship deal was worth €30M ($30.5M) with both of them coming to an agreement for a two-year initial term with the possibility of an additional year’s extension.
The deal has now reached the stage where Binance will begin selling NFT single and season tickets for the club.
The NFT ticket buyers will be able to watch the team’s home matches at Rome’s famed Stadio Olimpico, the city’s largest sports venue.
In addition to having access to the stadium, the NFT ticket holders will also receive 10% off any purchase made at the Lazio store and 20% off tickets to the club’s Europa League games.

Fans who buy the NFT tickets will also be eligible to win fan tokens and gain entry to a number of exclusive events. Lazio fans must sign up for a Binance account and visit the Binance Fan Token Platform in order to purchase tickets.
Marco Canigiani, Marketing Director of S.S. Lazio, noted “Our collaboration with Binance enables S.S. Lazio to change and influence the way fans interact with various product offerings from our sports club. We can expect many more features to be launched using blockchain technology throughout S.S. Lazio’s partnership with Binance.”
By preventing issues like ticket forgery and resale of tickets at exorbitant prices, Binance’s NFT ticketing technology increases the reliability of ticketing systems. These characteristics aid in preventing chaos at important sporting events brought on by forgery and unauthorized resale.
Binance has a strong relationship with the football sector. Just last month, Binance signed an exclusive, multi-year NFT partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese football star.
