Following the recent U.S. treasury sanctions, Alchemy and Infura blocked Ethereum API access for Tornado Cash users. Both platforms are crypto API and infrastructure providers that are also the latest centralized entities in the crypto space to blacklist sanctioned crypto mixers.
According to the Twitter user, Alchemy and Infura who count as popular RPC providers, have disable access to the Tornado Cash front-end user interface. By blocking API access, those using Alchemy and Infura endpoints are not able to access the privacy service.
However, this restriction is limited to the front-end code which indicates users can still access Tornado Cash from the command line interface (CLI) via “method calling”.
