Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson finally expressed his apology towards the Cardano SPO Community following his outburst on reports of the Cardano testnet being broken.
Just two days back, Charles Hoskinson responded to rushing 1.34.3 Node saying it “has been thoroughly tested.” The community argued with Hoskinson, claiming that IOHK, Cardano’s parent firm, had failed to support the SPOs and that respinning the testnet would be a waste of effort.
His apology is for not responding appropriately to accusations that the Cardano testnet is malfunctioning. In his apology, Hoskinson noted that “the backbone of Cardano as a useful protocol is the SPO community.”
Hoskinson is deeply frustrated that Cardano doesn’t have a members-based organization to represent the “needs and desires of the community”, and that it has a fragmented approach to ecosystem development and no accountability structures outside of catalyst to force more rapid and sustainable adoption.
He wants to see the Cardano community reach its full potential and for its capabilities to be deployed towards “making the world better.”
“When I see things that go against that, it makes me sad and angry. How we communicate is just as important as what we do,’ Hoskinson tweeted.
The Cardano co-founder noted that over the last 3 days he could have personally chosen a different approach and he regrets that he didn’t.
“That doesn’t change the fact that you’re all members of a family and chose to be here. I feel like I’ve let you down and for that I’m sorry,” Hoskinson added.
Hoskinson added that there will be an extensive post-mortem of Vasil and lots of great changes through CIPs and new organizations that represent all the different factions.
Hoskinson, though, believes that the arrival of Vasil would mark the end of an era on Cardano. The upcoming period will be marked by a more inclusive structure, improved governance procedures, quicker development, and other benefits.
