The NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart and drag racer Leah Pruett teamed up with NFT and Web3 experience company Orange Comet for ‘The Legend of Smoke Collection.’ This NFT series honoring the American race car driver’s career will go on sale on August 23 at 12 pm ET / 9 am PT.
Tony Stewart Racing plans to tell the victory story in a “never before seen” way.
The racecar driver attributes his interest in NFTs to his wife Leah Pruett. “Actually, my wife Leah, she’s pretty tech-savvy. I am the least tech-savvy person probably on the face of the planet,” Stewart said.
The ‘Legend of Smoke’ series, which will include a variety of signature animations and PFPs, will be available at OpenSea NFT marketplace and TonyStewartNFTs.com.
The drop is divided into two categories: the ‘Champion Series,’ which includes five signature animations highlighting various cars, and the ‘Champion Series,’ which includes 30 total NFTs for $5000.
Each of these 30 NFTs will come with an autographed firesuit. More on this later—if the series sells out, one of the Champion Series NFT owners will be eligible to receive Tony’s 2011 #14 championship NASCAR stock car.
The ‘Legacy Series’ category will feature 500 total NFTs priced at $250 each, highlighting selected cars Stewart has driven.
There will also be a one-in-five chance to win a 30-minute virtual hangout with Stewart. Fans who purchase two or more NFTs in this series will receive an autographed hat from Stewart.
