The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has seized and blocked a crypto wallet which was found to be funding the Russian military campaign in the country.
The seized crypto wallet held over $19,500 worth of crypto. A press release by the SSU states that the agency is currently working on tracking those funds and transferring them to the Ukrainian jurisdiction.
The SSU used evidence gathered by the security service and the assistance of unnamed foreign crypto companies to arrest the self-proclaimed Russian volunteer.
The man raised crypto donations by running social media campaigns since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

He used a significant chunk of the crypto donations to purchase military gear for the separatist fighters of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republic (L/DNR).
The SSU warned citizens that ‘a similar fate awaits other Russian ‘volunteers’ who sponsor the war in Ukraine.’
Even the Russian Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently admitted to anonymously donating 5 million ETH to Ukraine using Tornado Cash.
