The CMD of India’s largest conglomerate Reliance, Mukesh Ambani conducted its 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Metaverse platform. He unveiled the plans of making the Jio 5G fastest in the world. He also announced that Reliance Jio has lined up an ambitious roll-out plan to make Jio a true 5G network by Diwali.
Ambani delivered a speech focusing on the company’s metaverse plans from an immersive and interactive 3D world, called the Reliance AGM virtual reality (VR) platform. This metaverse event is powered by GMetri, a metaverse facilitating platform, which provides immersive experiences without XR code.
The metaverse comprises an interactive virtual room that lets the viewers explore through the meeting room leading to different doors for each of RIL group companies, including Jio, Reliance Retail, and Reliance Foundation. These doors then lead into virtual conference rooms, showcasing highlights of the businesses in graphics and slides.
Jio will deploy the latest version of 5G called Stand-Alone 5G which is truly independent of the 4G network. With Stand-Alone 5G, Jio can offer new and powerful services such as low latency connectivity, 5G voice, Edge computing, network slicing, massive machine-to-machine communication, and Metaverse.
To implement its plan, the company has acquired the largest and the most appropriate mix of the wireless spectrum of 5G. This marks an impressive move as early this year Reliance Jio has shown its intention to explore the metaverse by acquiring a 25% stake in US tech firm Two Platforms.
Ambani also confirmed that Jio 5G will be accessible to multiple key cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata by Diwali.
Subsequently, Reliance also plans to increase the Jio 5G footprint with each passing month, he said in a speech that was live-streamed across five social media platforms and Metaverse.
Ambani emphasized that the quality of 5G will also be unbeatable. In fact, it will be the world’s largest and most advanced 5G network as Jio’s 5G service won’t rely on a 4G network.
Using 5G technology, Jio can dramatically reduce latency or lag, and deliver breakthrough increases in broadband speed, network capacity, and the number of connected users.
