I don’t blame you if you were unaware that the co-founder and inventor of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin is also a very well-known writer. And now he wants to present “a collection of essays” he has written over the last ten years in a book called “Proof of Stake -The Making of Ethereum and the Philosophy of Blockchains.”
Nathan Schneider is the editor of the book, which will be published by Seven Stories Press. Vitalik has pledged to donate his share of the proceeds from the sale of this book to open-source public goods through Gitcoin Grants.
Buyers can also pledge donations, with 90% going to the Gitcoin Grants matching pool and 10% going to the publisher Seven Stories Press.
Vitalik Buterin co-founded Bitcoin Magazine and wrote the Ethereum white paper, which proposed an open-source protocol that included contracts, social networks, and sharing economies.
Speaking of the book, it is a collection of essays, including “On Free Speech” ,”Prediction Markets: Tales from the Election”, and the book’s final essay, “Crypto Cities”. The Ethereum white paper is also included as an appendix.
The book will be released on September 27, just two weeks after the Ethereum Merge.

The ideas behind Ethereum in the words of its founder, describes a radical vision for more than a digital currency— “reinventing organizations, economics, and democracy itself in the age of the internet” reads its blurb.
“[Vitalik Buterin’s] vision has become a rallying cry. . . a technological crusade for increased access, transparency, and accountability. . . . A new economy in which anyone can participate on their own terms,” writes Wired.
