The crypto asset custody and services firm Fireblocks has added support for Solana-based NFTs, DeFi, and Gaming apps. This integration allows Fireblocks’ users to connect and interact directly with decentralized applications built on Solana.
Developers will be able to utilize a suite of tools that enhances security for builders working in Solana’s ecosystem. Fireblocks CEO Michael Shaulov stated that Fireblocks’ Web3 Engine offers Solana builders top-notch security when it comes to accessing the blockchain and its ecosystem of applications for its users.
Fireblocks previously provided support for Solana’s native token SOL as well as stablecoins such as USDC. Now, the Fireblocks’ “Web3 Engine” offers an on-steroid version of its key-sharding wallet technology to the Solana user base.
Shaulov emphasized that it’s a very scalable wallet technology with several use cases. Moreover, it can be used by an operations team to efficiently manage the treasury of the organization.
This use case also extends to Web3 retail applications where a game can create wallets for its million users and serve them in a custodial way. As such, there would be utmost connectivity, controls, and security to mint tokens and NFTs.
Currently, Fireblocks connects to some 35 blockchain networks and works with a string of Web3 companies including MoonPay, Animoca, Xternity Games, Utopian Game Labs, Wirex, and Griffin Gaming. The latest integration uses WalletConnect V2, a protocol for bridging decentralized apps, upgraded to securely enable vault connections to non-EVM chain dApps.
Additionally, this integration will push support for the WalletConnect2 protocol across the Solana ecosystem. With this, it’s much more secure and scalable to connect with decentralized apps. Prior to that, you already had to do all kinds of proprietary, non-scalable solutions, said Shaulov.
