The parent company of Proof Collective NFT membership club and Moonbirds NFT collection, PROOF, made several announcements regarding its funding of $50 Million, NFT plans, and Plot tokens during the Future Proof streaming presentation.
Kevin Rose’s PROOF, announced the raising of $50 million in its Series A funding round led by VC giant Andreessen Horowitz.
Rose also revealed that Proof is developing a utility token for its community. Rose said that the designing and launching of a token is both a ‘technological lift’ and also a legal one. The Proof’s token initiative will have a full-fledged release planned for Q1 2023.
Rose explained, “We are well aware that the world doesn’t need another token for speculation.” Rose added the firm is looking to do things uniquely with real utility, and something that pushes in new and exciting directions.
The Web3 start-up is launching a Moonbirds modelled-collection called Moonbirds Mythics consisting of 20,000 NFTs. The launch will be expected in early 2023. Mythics is the startup’s third NFT profile picture project, after the original Moonbirds and Oddities.
The new Moonbirds Mythics collection will have a freestyle hand-drawn look, and will be based on early samples shown during the presentation. Proof will allow Moonbirds owners to “nest” (or stake, effectively) their NFT in order to earn a Mythics NFT as a reward.
Oddities owners can also burn their NFT for a Moonbirds Mythic.

Proof will also keep the original Moonbirds NFT artwork entirely on-chain, so that the Ethereum project’s smart contract need not to call any external servers. Moreover, when a Moonbirds NFT owner also has a Proof Collection NFT pass in the same wallet, then they will automatically facilitate a unique theme behind the owl avatar.
Future NFT projects that fans can watch out for include “Proof X” collaborations with artists to explore a unique smart contract operation. A “Curated” brand is also coming up for renowned creators to launch work from some of their favorite artists.
