Two of the Ukraine’s largest tech-based retailers, Techno Їzhak and Stylus, have started accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment.
According to a local news outlet Obozrevatel, the two tech retailers will allow Bitcoin payments from customers for goods and services.
The report also informs the firms will be using payments provider Whitepay to help companies facilitate between customers and merchants. Whitepay is a subsidiary of the European-based crypto exchange WhiteBIT.
Thus, customers can use Bitcoin for both online and at brick-and-mortar stores, which equals to more than 100 retail locations across both tech companies. Customers paying in-person can use Whitepay’s custom point-of-sale system, which provides a QR code to merchants to record the transaction.
The QR code consists of data on the current exchange rate, along with the amount of time the transaction takes to complete on the network.
Whitepay CEO Gleb Udovichenko said, “Ukraine is not the first year in the lead in terms of the number of cryptocurrency owners in the world and the volume of transactions.” He further added that the firm will provide buyers with more alternatives for using their cryptocurrency assets.
