Crypto exchange Binance has appointed Henrique Meirelles, former President of the Brazilian Central Bank and Economy Minister, to its advisory board.
The crypto exchange confirmed the news and stated that more information about this initiative will be released soon via the Brazilian newspaper O Globo.
Meirelles served as the president of Brazil’s Central Bank from 2003 to 2011 and as economy minister from 2016 to 2018, during which time he attended the first meetings on cryptocurrencies at a Group-of-20 event in 2017.
