Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance will suspend deposits and withdrawals for Ether (ETH) and Wrapped Ether (WETH) on multiple networks today at 2 pm UTC. This is to get ready for the Ethereum Merge and to guarantee the distribution of forked tokens in the event of a chain split.
Until the Merge is concluded, the suspension will remain in effect. When the affected networks are verified stable, ETH and WETH deposits and withdrawals will resume. ETH on the Arbitrum network, ETH on the Optimism network, and WETH on the Ronin Network will be the affected tokens.
The suspension of the wallet will not affect ETH trading, and any ETH or WETH deposits made during the suspension will not be reimbursed and will not be qualified for any forked token credits in the case of a chain split.
