The notorious Bitcoin Launderer Heather Morgan, also known by her rapper moniker “Razzlekhan”, has requested a judge the permission to access her cryptocurrency wallets in order to calculate her and her husband’s tax liabilities.
She and her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, are accused of laundering 119,754 Bitcoin stolen during the hack of crypto exchange Bitfinex back in 2016.
Razzlekhan’s lawyer, Eugene Gorokhov, filed to ask for clarification if Morgan could access her wallets without breaching pretrial conditions.
The filing, dated September 12 states that in order to calculate her tax liability, Ms. Morgan must access specific cryptocurrency wallets for further calculating income from the sales of crypto assets.
The filing read that the undersigned counsel has already talked about this issue with the government and the government understands Ms. Morgan’s need to access this data.
Thus, the filing asserts that the government holds no objection to the request.
