South Korean prosecutors have indicated that Terra Co-founder Do Kwon, who is accused in the $60 billion cryptocurrency crash, is now at the risk of an Interpol red notice. Prosecutors also alleged that Kwon is trying to evade redress.
As per reports, the prosecutors said, “We are in the process of it,” when asked if they made a request for Interpol to step in. A red notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to make an arrest.
Kwon had reportedly moved from South Korea to Singapore, but the city-state says he’s not there. His location still remains unknown and Kwon clarified on twitter that he is not on the run.
Prosecutors’ office had earlier claimed “circumstantial evidence of escape” after Kwon left for Singapore, and hence they placed an arrest warrant on him in the first place.
Moreover, reports had cited prosecutors claiming that Kwon was not cooperating with investigation and has told investigators via an attorney that he does not intend to appear before them for questioning.
