South Korea’s online platform Naver and LINE, the messenger app, together launched NFT platform, NOW.Drops for K-pop music fans to create personalized NFTs.
NOW.Drops lets users mint NFTs of their favorite musical acts that users can crop out of the unique content on NOW, Naver’s live audio and video streaming service that features South Korean artists.
Users can mint and save the clips of their favorite acts, by purchasing “crystals” which can further be used to purchase other NFTs on the platform. You can thus crystallize your favorite moments in the form of NFTs.
NOW.Drops can be accessed via LINE’s e-wallet DOSI, which in turn can be used by logging through social media accounts and making payments.
K-pop girl group ‘NMIXX’ held an exclusive comeback showcase on NOW at the launch and an NFT airdrop event was held on the newly launched platform. NowDrops held an ‘airdrop’ in which crystals were provided through a lottery so that they could hold NMIXX’s NFTs for free for 8 days.
Naver NOW. Jinhwan Gong, Senior Service Leader, said, “Now Drops is a service that opens new possibilities in the NFT market based on NOW’s original content production power and Line Next’s technology. It will give them a new experience.”
