In a multi-year agreement, the leading Web3 software solutions company Chain and Kraft Sports + Entertainment will collaborate to serve as the official blockchain and Web3 sponsor of the NFL’s New England Patriots, MLS’s New England Revolution, Gillette Stadium, and Patriot Place.
Deepak Thapliyal, CEO of Chain, stated that the partnership will assist Kraft Sports and Entertainment in creating cutting-edge experiences for stadium visitors by utilizing Chain’s proprietary blockchain technology. They will work hand in hand to create “state-of-the-art” Web3 experiences for fans.
Kraft Sports + Entertainment is a subsidiary of The Kraft Group, a conglomerate with interests in professional sports and other industries. The Kraft Group bought the New England Patriots in 1994.
Murray Kohl, Vice President of Sales for Kraft Sports + Entertainment, stated that the Patriots and Revolution have sought to engage fans through early website development, a nightly internet show, and a long-running podcast over the years.
“Together with Chain, we’ll look to innovate that same way with Web3. Our fans will be able to connect with the Patriots and Revolution in ways never before possible” Kohl said.
The Chain CEO is an avid CryptoPunk and BAYC NFT collector. We know him for spending about $23 million, or 8,000 ETH, on a CryptoPunk NFT. Following the sponsorship announcement, Thapliyal purchased the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain Patriots.eth for 75 ETH ($99,461.25).
