The Walt Disney Company is looking to expand its Web3 presence as it is looking to hire an experienced corporate attorney to work on transactions involving emerging technologies, including NFTs, blockchain, metaverse, and DeFi.
According to the job posting, the Corporate Transactions Group, within the Legal Department of The Walt Disney Company, is seeking to appoint a “Principal Counsel — Corporate Transactions, Emerging Technologies & NFTs.
The attorney is expected to provide full product life cycle legal advice and support for global NFT products. This is all while working closely with other Disney attorneys and business stakeholders.
The new recruit will assist with due diligence for “NFT, blockchain, third-party marketplace and cloud provider projects” as well as assist with intricate agreement negotiations and drafting.
The Principal Counsel should work together with business groups as they schedule “accelerated and aggressive” new global emerging technology projects.
Disney is looking to hire an attorney who has 5-8 years minimum experience managing and running complex corporate transactions and experience at a large multinational law firm with an internationally recognized corporate practice.
This new job opportunity unveils Disney’s active exploration of the Web3 realm and the corporation is trying not to miss out on the NFT and metaverse hype. Just two weeks back, Disney CEO laid out plans for its Metaverse describing Disney’s vision for the metaverse as “next-generation storytelling”.
