The world’s largest crypto exchange Binance has announced the signing of an MoU with the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan to develop the digital assets market in the country.
Under this agreement, the parties will jointly work on creating safe virtual assets markets while also building a long-term and sustainable platform for interaction.
The primary goal of signing the MoU is cooperation and mutual support of parties in the field of circulation of crypto assets. The agreement will also focus on the exchange of information, and the identification and blocking of virtual assets obtained by criminal means.
Moreover, the two entities will collaboratively work on barring those who intended for the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism.
During the meeting, the Vice President for Global Intelligence and Investigations of Binance, Tigran Gambaryan presented a report on the topic “Investigations in the cryptosphere”.
Another topic of discussion among representatives of Binance and the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan was “Typologies of sanctions evasion using cryptocurrencies, suppression of illegal activities.”
The signing of the Memorandum took place as part of the implementation of a global training program for representatives of regulators and law enforcement agencies across the globe. The program aims to develop the cooperation of the ecosystem with national and international authorities in the fight against cyber and financial crimes.
Last week, Binance also announced it will boost its Global Law Enforcement Training Program which has seen a significant response since it expanded the investigation team. The Binance Law Enforcement Training Program has already taken place in France, Italy, the UK, Germany, Norway, Canada, Brazil, Israel, and Paraguay.
