Rare David Bowie NFT collaboration with renowned 19-year-old artist FEWOCiOUS sells for a mighty $127,000 (96.5 ETH) on OpenSea.
This NFT in The Bowie Estate’s exclusive collection “Bowie on the Blockchain” features an animated video clip paired with a physical seven-foot-tall sculpture wearing one of Bowie’s custom suits from his archive.
FEWOCiOUS described this piece by saying, “I thought it was so cool that he always was what he wanted to be. And created a world he wanted to live in. That’s really the feeling I try to capture in my art.”
The “Bowie on the Blockchain” collection highlights the works of nine artists across the NFT space. The NFT collection was curated to commemorate the British pop legend and colorful motifs throughout his artistic career. Other NFTs in the collection sold between 3 ETH ($4,000) to 7.5 ETH ($9,800).
The NFT that sold for the second-highest amount is “It Became A Myth Land” by NFT artist Defaced. This unique NFT artwork runs on a 12-hour clock that spans six different segments of Bowie’s life and career. Also, it comes with an Atomic Form digital frame that displays the work.
The overall collection focuses on carrying out Bowie’s legacy of transforming the nature of musical performances and empowering digital communities.
Bidding for NFT in this collection began on September 30 and will last until November 3. After all collection sales end, 100% of the profits will be donated to CARE, an organization working towards eradicating global poverty and hunger.
