As NFTs are hitting the mainstream, this year’s 64th Latin Grammy Awards is also stepping into the Web3 space. The Latin Grammy Awards will have its first-ever NFT collection after Latin Recording signed a three-year contract for award show-related NFTs.
The move marks the partnership between the Latin Recording Academy which is behind the Latin Grammys and OneOf, a Web3 music platform. Each NFT collection will include drops highlighting Latin music and will lead up to that year’s award show.
Manuel Abud, the CEO of the Latin Recording Academy showed his enthusiasm for this initiative by saying, this is a new form of musical innovation to celebrate excellence in Latin music. The collection is a medium to connect music to other art forms in our culture, including visual and digital arts, he added.
This way, fans get to own a piece of the Latin Grammys. These Latin Grammy Awards NFTs will drop throughout October in the lead-up to the award show on Nov. 18. Most recently, Binance signed an agreement with the Recording Academy, becoming the first crypto exchange partner for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.Â
The first collection under this three-year NFT release plan will be coinciding with the 64th Grammys for which Binance is the official crypto exchange.
