Leading smartphone company Infinix launches its most powerful flagship smartphone Zero Ultra along with a space-themed limited-edition Xboy Explorer NFT collection.
Infinix’s Zero Ultra with 180W Thunder Charge technology will be available in Coslight Silver and Genesis Noir in 256GB at $520.
According to the press release, the launch of the Xboy Explorer collection is Infinix’s first step into the Web3 marketing space. Infinix collaborated with Cluster3 NFT Labs which is in charge of designing the space-themed Xboy Explorer NFT collection.
“As the world moves towards Web3 adoption, Infinix offers users a unique digital experience through the one-of-a-kind XBOY EXPLORER NFT collection to promote ZERO ULTRA in a fun and exciting way,” the press release notes.
Five explorers from different worlds in the solar system make up the Xboy Explorer NFT series, which honors “humanity’s spirit of space exploration.”
Each NFT character has skills that are a representation of the key technological advancements seen in the Infinix Zero Ultra smartphone.
The five Xboy Explorer characters include “Flash” from Venus with a 180W Thunder Charge, “Mirror” from Jupiter with a 3D waterfall display, “Vision” from Mercury with a 200MP camera, “Wisestar” from Mars with a 6nm 5G processor, and “Chic” from Saturn with an extremely fashionable appearance.
The ultra-rare, limited-edition NFT variant of the Xboy collection is Flash, with his 180W Thunder Charge.
Skye Chen, Head of Global PR at Infinix Mobility, noted “Our goal is to integrate that spirit of exploration into mobile phone development, and launch super-fast charging technology that offers users the best possible experience. At the same time, we’re undertaking innovative NFT marketing strategies, to deliver an exciting digital experience to users. The Xboy Explorer NFTs tie all these exciting developments together.”
Users of Infinix’s Zero Ultra will receive an NFT lottery card when they purchase the device, and by scanning the QR code, they can enter to win an animated NFT.
The “Explore NFT stories with Infinix” activity is also available to fans via Infinix’s Facebook channels. By posting on their own social media about their favorite Xboy Explorer characters and why they love them, they will have the chance to win an NFT.
The people chosen by Infinix’s official account and fans who receive the most engagement on their posts will each receive one of the limited-edition NFTs. The Flash special edition will be given out to a lucky 2% of participants.
The statement concludes by saying “By connecting the attributes of its physical products with creative NFT assets, the brand is engaging with young consumers in the metaverse in an entirely new way, and inviting them to become brand owners and co-creators.”
This is not the first time a smartphone company has incorporated the idea of an NFT collection launch along with the debut of its new smartphone. In July, Nothing unveiled NFTs ahead of its Phone (1) launch. Nothing collaborated with Polygon to airdrop these NFTs to individuals who invested in Nothing’s debut as well as those who pre-ordered phones.
