The Mt. Gox Bitcoin exchange rehabilitation system has released a new function that allows creditors to choose a repayment method and register payee information.
Creditors can use this function to choose a repayment method and register payee information on the online claim filing system. According to Mt. Gox latest notice, the selection and registration deadline is January 10.
Creditors must take note of several explanatory materials, including a notice regarding the modification of the rehabilitation plan and the acquisition of payment authorization, information on the financial situation of the failed Mt. Gox Bitcoin exchange, the income and expenditure statement, and a guide to the selection of a crypto exchange or custodian.
To register on the system, creditors must log in and complete the selection and registration process themselves. If they do not comply by the deadline, they will be unable to receive repayments.
On missing the deadline creditors will miss their chance to receive the early lump sum, a portion of the cryptocurrency rehabilitation claims, bank remittance payments, or remittance through a fund transfer service provider.
For the creditors, the Mt. Gox case has been a rollercoaster ride. The crypto community has been eagerly waiting for further developments since creditors voted on the trustee’s plan for the rehabilitation process.
