Google Cloud and Coinbase announced a new long-term strategic partnership today to better serve the Web3 ecosystem and its developers.
This new partnership will allow a selected set of Google cloud customers to pay for Cloud services using digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The new payments service experience, which enables merchants worldwide to accept cryptocurrency payments in a decentralized manner, will benefit Google Cloud’s customers and partners by increasing the payment options for Google Cloud services.
Under this partnership Coinbase will use Google Cloud as a strategic cloud provider for the development of advanced exchange and data services. Coinbase will use Google Cloud’s powerful compute platform to process blockchain data at scale, as well as expand the global reach of its crypto services by leveraging Google’s premium fiber-optic network.
Coinbase will also build its global data platform on Google Cloud’s secure infrastructure, leveraging their leading data and analytics technologies to provide Coinbase customers with machine learning-driven crypto insights.
Through this collaboration, Web3 developers will be able to access Google’s BigQuery crypto public datasets across leading blockchains, which will be powered by Coinbase Cloud Nodes. The integration will enable developers to run Web3-based systems instantly and reliably without the need for expensive and complex infrastructure.
In addition, Google will use Coinbase Prime, for institutional crypto services, like secure custody and reporting.
