Tech giant Google is deepening its presence in the Web3 sector as it now allows users to view the balances of their respective Ethereum addresses through its search engine.
Han Hua, a Crypto investor at Google Ventures, officially revealed the functionality via his Twitter handle. The statistics are being obtained through the Etherscan Ethereum block explorer.
The community got extremely hyped by the new feature and attempted to search a variety of Ethereum addresses, but the majority of them were unsuccessful. Therefore, the functionality is extremely limited at the moment but could develop in the near future.
Nonetheless, Google is trying to scale its ventures in Web3, and the community could be any happier as these moves by a big corporation would evidently push for greater crypto adoption.
Just yesterday, Google Cloud and Coinbase announced a new long-term strategic partnership to better serve the Web3 ecosystem and its developers. This new partnership will allow a selected set of Google cloud customers to pay for Cloud services using digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
