This year’s Ballon d’Or winners are given NFTs along with the prestigious award and leading hardware wallets maker Ledger is giving them a golden Ledger Nano to “secure it.”
The Ledger team clarified that the actual NFT was created by the Ballon d’Or team, and they just provided the custom Ledgers.
Last month French newspaper L’Équipe group announced the launch of NFT collections with some exceptional services as perks for the winners.
Footballers Karim Benzema, Alexia Putellas, Gavi, Thibaut Courtois, and Robert Lewandowski received the male Golden Ball, female Golden Ball, Kopa Trophy, Yachine Trophy, Gerd Müller Trophy, and the NFTs respectively.
