Former Argentine striker and all-time top goalscorer of Manchester City, Sergio Agüero aka Kun collaborates with metaverse platform the Sandbox to launch the football metaverse experience ‘The Kuniverse.’
The massive metaverse football gaming world “The Kuniverse” will debut in November in The Sandbox. Sergio Agüero has created the metaverse with several top-notch features in collaboration with Eter Studios.
Players will be able to use the 9320 Kun avatars in the Kuniverse after they become available in the Sandbox simultaneously with the metaverse launch.
The NFTs, which honor every stage of his career at numerous clubs, are available in five distinct rarity levels: Special Kuns, Robot Kuns, Future Kuns, E-Kuns, and Football Kuns.
The NFTs comprise a few football utilities based around the Kuniverse. Lucky holders will get a chance to win a one-on-one meeting with Kun at the World Cup in Qatar in November.
The Kuniverse’s first season will be set in a huge virtual football stadium set to host dance parties, football-related activities, and popular Argentinian cuisine like Dulce de leche.
Sergio Agüero noted “I am very excited to have my first space in the metaverse we created with Eter Studio inside The Sandbox to play and stream with my fans worldwide. The first season of Kuniverse will be full of surprises and benefits related to the 9,320 avatars that were specially created.”
A football jersey signed by Kun and 120 $SAND tokens will be given away by The Sandbox to anyone who follows the specified instructions in celebration of Sergio Agüero’s entry into The Sandbox.
The football industry is readily exploring web3 and metaverse opportunities these days. In March, Crypto.com became the official sponsor of the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Two months later, Algorand became the official blockchain platform of FIFA.
