The world’s largest manufacturer of prepared potato products McCain, is stepping into the metaverse while also launching new Regen Fries as part of its #SaveOurSoil initiative.
For implementing this initiative, McCain foods has teamed up with Bored & Hungry and Roblox to spread awareness among consumers on regenerative farming. Currently, McCain’s free-to-play Farms of the Future game integrated into Livetopia, one of the top ten Riblox titles, is now available globally.
Regen Fries production is environmentally friendly as these fries are made with potatoes that are grown using regenerative farming methods which improves soil health, biodiversity, and on-farm resilience to climate change.
In McCain x Roblox ‘Farms of the Future game’, players can virtually grow potatoes using regenerative farming methods that improve and restore soil health.
As such, players also get rewarded when they implement regenerative practices such as integrating livestock via rotational grazing, planting cover crops, and encouraging biodiversity.
This is part of McCain’s global commitment to execute regenerative agriculture practices worldwide by the end of 2030.
To take a step further into the metaverse, McCain also joined forces with Bored & Hungry, the first restaurant to bridge the metaverse and real-life experience. Collectively, they will serve McCain Regen Fries at its flagship location in Long Beach, California from October 28th to November 18th.
To expand its reach, McCain Regen Fries x Bored & Hungry will also be setting up pop-up locations to serve Regen Fries in London (Nov 3rd-4th) and Toronto (November 16th-18th).
McCain’s Global Head of Innovation and Marketing Christine Kalvenes said that Regen Fries, the Farms of the Future game, and the Bored & Hungry collaboration are an experiential, fun, and effective way to begin raising awareness for building a more sustainable food system for regenerative farming.
As we move toward 2030, #SaveOurSoil is an important effort to help build a community for sustainable farming globally, she added.
Well, food manufacturers are not lagging in embracing the crypto, NFTs, and metaverse concept. Recently, McDonald’s has also begun accepting Bitcoin and Tether in Swiss Town. This is just a start, decentralized space has a lot more to offer in the days ahead.
