Payments giant Visa is seemingly unstoppable with its ventures in the web3 space as it files trademark applications related to NFTs, Metaverse, and a crypto wallet.
The trademark registrations were disclosed by Mike Kondoudis, a trademark attorney who examines Metaverse and NFT trademark filings at the USPTO.
Visa filed two trademark applications claiming plans for non-downloadable software for users to “view, access, store, monitor, manage, trade, send, receive, transmit, and exchange” cryptocurrency, NFTs, and more.
The filing also reveals Visa’s plans to launch an online non-downloadable software for a cryptocurrency wallet and a collectible series of NFTs.
Visa is also gearing up to audit crypto and other digital assets and debut in the metaverse by offering virtual environments where users can interact for “recreational, leisure, or entertainment purposes.”
VWith its ventures, Visa has always tried to expand its presence in web3. The recent one is Visa teaming up with FTX crypto exchange to offer debit cards in 40 countries, focusing on Latin America, Asia, and Europe.
In April, its rival company Mastercard filed for 15 trademarks, five each for its “Circles” logo, the popular “Priceless” slogan, and its brand name for several NFT, Metaverse, and financial goods and services.
