Japanese sportswear manufacturer ASICS is making a remarkable stride into the Web3 space with the launch of the ASICS x Solana UI collection. This new range features custom-made GT-2000 11 running shoes.
Customers will automatically get a loyalty ASICS Badge NFT with the purchase and a chance to receive an airdrop of a limited number of ASICS x STEPN GT-2000 NFTs.
A total of 1,001 ASICS x STEPN NFTs will be airdropped, comprising 850 common, 150 uncommon, and 1 rare. All these NFTs will be ‘OG’ STEPN NFTs on the Solana blockchain.
Moreover, the shoes are exclusively available to purchase with USDC via Solana Pay ASICS’ website. The shoes can be bought for $200 USDC and are available for pre-order globally until Nov 9 at 6:59 AM UTC.
This would be the first-ever globally distributed physical product available to order using USDC on Solana pay, bringing physical and digital commerce together.
With this initiative, “ASICS is breaking down geographical barriers to facilitate transactions around the world and showing just how much more can be done with Web3 commerce.” said Josh Fried, Head of Payments Business Developments of Solana Labs.
The shoe has been exclusively designed for everyday activity and is available in two custom designs, “light mode” and “dark mode”.
The Solana-inspired design is derived from the user interface (UI) on computer and phone screens to represent a healthy balance between physical activity and screen time.
