During Lisbon’s annual technology conference WebSummit, Nicole Muniz, CEO of Yuga Labs announced that the organization is hiring ‘Best and Brightest’ to boost the Web3 efforts.
Muniz also confirmed that Yuga Labs is trying to hire top talents to build the next phase of the internet. “If you want to build some of the craziest things on the internet, wrapped up in storytelling, creativity, board mythology, and fun then you should come and work at Yuga,” she said.
She also addressed the importance of the security and safety of digital assets and the potential of IP rights. Speaking about Yuga Labs’ successful NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club, she elaborated on the origins of the Ape collection.
Muniz touched on various points around the distinction between an NFT and a typical JPEG, saying that the NFT conveys the rights and the fact that you have true ownership of that asset. When we talk about Yuga Labs’ collections BAYC, CryptoPunks, and Meebits, creators have granted full commercial intellectual property licenses to holders.

She said, “that exclusive ownership is something that is really coming into the space and it empowers consumers to actually shift into owners and that’s a paradigm shift overall.”
According to Muniz, the number of projects within the BAYC ecosystem has thrived, thanks to commercial sovereignty. She emphasized in the conference that Yuga Labs’s metaverse plans are on the roll.
Currently, Yuga is developing an “Otherside development” kit to enable builders to construct features while also developing capabilities for the Otherside metaverse. The move is focused on transporting those functionalities into other metaverses within the space.
