The regulators in the Bahamas are investigating the sudden collapse of the crypto exchange FTX, and the Royal Bahamas police stated they are looking into whether any criminal misconduct happened.
The Royal Bahamas police said a team of financial investigators is working closely with the Bahamas Securities Commission following the FTXs crash globally and the provisional liquidation of FTX Digital Markets Ltd.
A few days back, the Bahamas Securities Commission froze the assets of FTX Digital Markets “and related parties” as the prudent course of action to preserve the assets and stabilize the company.
Meanwhile, FTX filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and SBF resigned from its CEO position. The aftermath of all this has been heavier, with FTX even reportedly suffering a hack worth over $600M.
