The Celsius bankruptcy situation is still ongoing, as US regulators have set a “Bar Date” for those affected by the situation to file a proof of claim against the company.
Anyone or entity wishing to file proofs of claim in the ongoing bankruptcy proceedings must do so by January 3, 2023, 5:00 p.m. EST.
After its motion was approved by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Celsius informed its former users of the recent court deadline approval, as well as step-by-step information on how claims are filed.
Individuals, partnerships, corporations, joint ventures, and trusts may file a claim by mail, in person, or online at the claims agent Stretto’s website.
Customers of the bankrupt lender are exempt from submitting proof of claim if they fall into one of the categories listed in the legal document, such as if any claims have already been paid by what remains of the company and a similar form has already been filed with the clerk of the bankruptcy court in New York.
Celsius Network declared bankruptcy under Chapter 11 in July, just weeks after freezing customer withdrawals. It asked the New York court for more time for submitting the platform’s reorganization plan.
