Six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen’s NFT collection “Scottie Pippen SP33,” launched in collaboration with NFT and Web3 experience company Orange Comet, sells out in a record time of 77 seconds.
The NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen SP33 NFT collection comprises 1,000 NFTs, which are “unique metawear sneakers” and are digital wearables for the future.
The NFT mint went live on December 20. The mint price for the NFTs was 0.20 ETH, and currently, the floor price of the Pippen NFT is 0.324 ETH on OpenSea with 256 ETH trading volume.
Meanwhile, 33 NFT holders in random will receive “a QR code with a $100 discount for sneaker lifestyle brands,” while another 33 randomly chosen buyers will receive “physical Pippen-autographed sneakers.”
Pippen will invite two NFT holders to play in a special round of golf with him. One fortunate buyer will be treated to a VIP dinner and tour of Scottie Pippen’s hometown.
These NFT sneakers will be compatible with metaverse and games so that they can be worn in various virtual environments.
Each purchaser received their NFT, “Orange Comet’s 3D animations,” and a “mystery box.” The latter will unlock in 2023 and contain digital art.
Scottie Pippen stated, “I’ve been a sneakerhead for as long as I can remember, so it was an easy decision to create an NFT collection that combines my passion for shoes with my love of the game.”
“I started doing some research on Twitter where the Web3 community and my fans helped me learn more. From what I saw, I knew there was an opportunity to do something different that would allow me to connect with my fans in a new way,” Pippen added.
Pippen noted, “We did it. We sold out today in about a minute. I just want to say, I’m so humbled and thankful for the turnout. Thanks to Orange Comet, OpenSea, and everyone who’s helped me along this journey of learning and being a part of the NFT space. I’m sorry for those of you who were not able to get one of the thousand pieces but we have more to come.”
In October, Sir Anthony Hopkins’s Eternal NFT collection, in collaboration with Orange Comet got, sold in less than 7 minutes. A total of 1000 NFTs were available, along with several utilities and a once-in-a-lifetime chance for ten fortunate collectors to acquire Signature Animation NFTs.

All Scottie Pippen NFT owners will receive allowlist access to the future “Corrupted” physical and digital wearables by Orange Comet, scheduled to launch in 2023.
