Popular Nouns NFT project will join the Rose Parade on January 2, 2023, at 8 AM PST in collaboration with Stoopid Buddy Stoodios.
The 134th Rose Bowl, a college football game between Penn State and Utah, is preceded by the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. With the exception of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 and the years 1942, 1943, and 1945 during World War II, the parade has been uninterrupted.
The famous Hollywood actor, director, writer, and producer Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, John Harvatine IV, and Eric Towner co-founded Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. The studio is famous for its award-winning shows Robot Chicken, Crossing Swords, Marvel’s MODOK, Blark & Son, etc.

In April, the Stoopid Buddy Stoodios presented the parade concept to the Nouns NFT DAO. The studio suggested making the costumes and parade float and recording everything for a documentary film.
The DAO granted Stoopid Buddy Stoodios’ request for roughly 610 ETH to pay for the production of the parade float, costumes, and film in June. According to a release from Stoopid Buddy, its “Meet the Nouns” float and costumed characters are ready for the parade.
When the request was approved on June 1, the investment had a value of over $1.1 million, however, 610 ETH now only has a value of roughly $723,000.
Stoopid Buddy Head of Development Chris Waters stated “The Rose Parade is a cultural institution in America with a viewing audience of over 30 million every year. As a volunteer-run event that focuses on fun, creativity, and community, it’s the perfect fit for Nouns, which shares those values and that culture.”
The six costumes in the float highlight a variety of project characteristics rather than re-creating certain existing Nouns NFT avatars, which are constructed from a randomized collection of character features. Even “Robot Chicken,” the studio’s popular stop-motion animation, gets a shoutout in one.
Stoopid Buddy co-founder Eric Towner added “We really wanted to show off the fun and positive side of Nouns and crypto. There were so many possibilities, but ultimately we landed on building the biggest and most ridiculous thing we could come up with: a 65-foot-long float covered in flowers, and [marching] it down the street in front of millions of people.”
