An FTX Task Force is established by the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office to handle investigations and prosecutions involving FTX and other entities as well as to track down and recover the assets of FTX’s victims.
“The Southern District of New York is working around the clock to respond to the implosion of FTX,” Manhattan U.S. Attorney Damian Williams stated.
Williams stated the SDNY FTX Task Force is to ensure that this urgent work continues, powered by all of SDNY’s resources and expertise until justice is done.
The formation of the task force was revealed when Sam Bankman-Fried aka SBF, the founder and former CEO of FTX, appeared in court to plead not guilty as SBF is facing numerous charges of financial fraud.
