The 21-year-old singer-songwriter Arden Jones sells his popular single “Parallel Parking” as NFTs on the song’s second anniversary, to pay for others’ parking tickets.
Jones launched the “Parallel Parking” NFT via Sound.xyz NFT platform to aid his “Parallel Parking Fund.”
Arden Jones stated “So, to celebrate the song’s two-year anniversary, I thought I’d pay it forward by covering some strangers’ parking tickets. Actually, WE are gonna pay it forward together.”
When people purchase these NFTs they are assisting in accumulating funds that will be used to pay parking fines for other individuals.
Arden Jones stated “Something as seemingly small as a parking ticket can have a huge impact on someone’s life, so I figured why not make it a positive one? To do this, we’ve created the Parallel Parking Fund, supported by this collection of limited edition NFTs.”
“A lot of parking tickets (especially in Los Angeles) are given out unnecessarily and excessively. I also feel that so many ‘No Parking’ signs in L.A. are purposefully confusing and are set up to make money, not to restrict parking where it’s necessary,” Jones empathized.
Collectors can purchase the NFT of the song at Sound.xyz for 0.05 ETH, around $80, and thereby support the cause. The team has raised roughly 1 ETH, about $1579.80 as of this writing.
Parallel Parking NFT holder and Sound.xyz investor Cooper Turley stated that it was “rare to find someone breaking on traditional platforms spending the time to cultivate their Web3 strategy.”
