US Senator (R-Texas) and crypto enthusiast Rafael ‘Ted’ Cruz introduced a proposal in the Senate wanting vendors in the Capitol complex to accept cryptocurrency payments.
Ted Cruz’s new concurrent resolution reads “accepting of cryptocurrency at restaurants, vending machines, and gift shops in the Capitol Complex.”
If Ted Cruz’s proposal is adopted, The Architect of the Capitol, the Secretary of the Senate, and the Chief Administrative Officer of the House of Representatives can only hire vending machine and food service operators who accept crypto for the Capitol complex in Washington, D.C.
While this resolution doesn’t need the president’s signature to take effect, it would still need to be approved by both the House and Senate.
